Damn Turk!

...they grow up so fast! Wasn't it like 4 years days ago when your boy was just a wee grom???

[Star-Bulletin]

What else what else. Oh! Dude. Last night was dopedopedope. If you missed Anton at the O Lounge becuase of the craziness to see Mickey don't worry! He's playing the a few more shows while he's home:
Jun 8 2007 Get Fresh Friday @ Indigos (21+)
Jun 15 2007 Frequency @ 39 Hotel (21+)
Jun 16 2007 rRed Elephant (all ages)

TONIGHT you should venture to Waikiki for Lava Rock Thursdays. It's a new event at the International Market Place by this dude from SF that I met at Lotus on Sunday. I don't know much about him except he had super rad kicks on and was very hyped on putting this together for us. Groove, hip-hop, old school and reggaeton on the stereo and $2 mai tais. They are open til 4am too. WHAT! Party. Call 808-926-5282 for directions.

Mickey Avalon? I seriously don't...

...get it.

But whatever, lovelies. You're all super crazy about him so word. I'll be there tonight to support Anton Glamb... and maybe stick around to watch his half-assed rhyming over strange beats that all sound like I've heard them before. You know why? Because you are SO cute when you get all worked up like that.

Anton isn't *exactly* what you call 'mainstream' either but his music is genius. His attitude is the best you'll ever witness.

AND? He bombs the Pali in a speedo.

Double Blog Double Blog!

That's right. Since it's a short week I figured I better work over time today to get you TWO updates! I mean. After all. I'm not.... *technically* working still. Well, full time anyway. My life? Rules!

Update one

Update two

Tonight? Oh...:

Helloooo Summer!

...oh who are we kidding. Summer is SO here. I mean, come on. All the college hotties are home. The pool parties at the Sheraton are in full swing. There was hell-a people at the sandbar. I'm tan. It's like 80 degrees out at 11am. SUMMER.

So listen I'm working SUPER hard on getting these two photo blog updates done. iJustine is now livestreaming on justin.tv tho so it's crazy hard to stay focused today. By the end of the day tho. Promise!

Highlights? OK!

cheese you can grill!

super bowl monday with lots of gimmicks!

gickr is back up! that means more sequences of nothing!

fun bobby was back at next door!

anton sighting!

plant of the drums was insane. fast and insane!

and don't think we didn't do sandbar over memorial day!!

last thing? kalima rules.

Ok I'm better now... HEY! Memorial Day!

...some time in the sun, homey-path-ick meds and hot-and-sour soup was all I needed. Thanks, friends.

NOTHING will keep me in tonight. I've spent too much time here and I'm crawling the walls. The pool party was my pupu to tonight's Planet of the Drums at Lotusmynewfavoriteclub. We are *almost* calling Lotus the "new wave" by the way. Just saying:

Tomorrow at 10am sharp I'm catching a boat out to the sandbar. Where we are TOTALLY not allowed to "party" anymore after the craziness in '05. Remember?! If not I linked those photos below. Oh, sandbar. How we love you...

HERE you can relive the moments if for some reason you're not coming tomorrow. Or just because. It was definitely something we all treasured tho... we knew it wouldn't last. Here they are.

PS: I can not get my shots to upload. My cable connection is acting strange and sporadic and even though I spent years and years fixing shit like this I can't figure out what's up. Pics may be dfelayed til June 1st. Sorry :(

First and Last Time...

...I'll ever complain on here.
So I'll get it all out now.
I'm SICK and it SUCKS.
I wiped my nose all through my interview at Visionary. Hacked myself to death in an intimate Kai vodka tasting. Coughed on Sakara's shoulder. Missed a Trolley pub crawl. Missed Natty Vibes's cd release.... you would think since I'm dying here at home that I would have plenty of time to do the weekly photo update. Hah. Every time I start it's too overwhelming and I just feel weak and get back in bed.

So today. When I'm finally feeling like I can at least handle the pool party at the Sheraton. I get out of bed. In to this cute bikini. Out to my car. Dead. The hybrid has 'decided' to crash. No more car. How do you translate misery into words in a blog? I know. With an old photo of the cat I tried to have last year:

Something new at the same old place

So G-spot is having this massive pub crawl in Chinatown tonight.

Before that goes down, I heard from a little HAA birdie that there's new stuff in the contemporary room at the academy... and this only happens once a month:

OH! and since we're going in backwards order... go to the Moana Surfrider hotel today at 1pm for a meet and greet for Andy's new love! AW! Tessa! Congratulations on your new life. HERE!

OH! and one last thing... the Rainbow Film Festival starts today. The schedule is up so check it.

Happy Memorial Day weekend... I'll put up more ideas for you later.

Tempo Valley and Paula Fuga...

...are offering their amazing talents tonight for Lacy's Teach One fund raiser. Although it's not mentioned in any of the press releases, she really needs people to donate children's slippers as well as school supplies. Come down at 7pm tonight with any sort of supplies for the children of Kamaile Elementary and pay a modest $5 to share pupus and talk story.

OH! and stop the presses! Anton Glamb is back on island!! I totally had a sighting last night. After a 'sort of' graduation from Columbia he is here to save all of us from music monotony and will be opening for Mickey Avalon next Wednesday at O Lounge. He is also rumored to have another show at Indigo's. I will most definitely keep you posted on THAT.

Last note? Flash, Molly and Payne? You guys were sooooo vodka'd last night! Haw haw. Thanks for the bottle, Lacy. It was a damn good time.

Today we are celebrating....

...my irresistible friends:

Car for Bike. Anyone?

So anyone who wants to trade... I have a 2000 hybrid honda with an expired safety check/registration and a 64x2 dual processor pc that I'll hand over for a BIKE and a MAC. Please e-mail me.

Tuesdays are special here. You already know this I think. At the risk of repeating myself every Tuesday about Thirtyninehotel and Next Door I'll touch on something different.... Honolulu Magazine's Photo Contest.

It's the 3rd one and the entries are getting more and more pro but YOU DO have a shot! The prize? Oh. Publication in their magazine and cash UP TO $500. Not the greatest incentive for pros but it would certainly look nice on a beginner's rez.

Full rules and info here.

If you're looking for Tuesday event info check dosomethingtonight they have it on lock for now. AND if you're looking for scoops on last night's bowling adventures check kalima. Mine will be around someday. *yawn*

I'm going to be trying out Peter Maharaj's take on 'upscale' nightlife at Aaron's in Waikiki early kine.

Ooooh! It's worth checking out Russ's gig at Brew Moon for the hot barely legal surf/skate scene:

In National News....

...it seems like ol Stevo and Danny are winding down their Laverne & Shirlee tour with a gig in New York. Now how on earth did I miss this one when I was in SF...esp since it was sponsored by Sidekick. WHA??

So ya. Tonight? Make it to Waikiki before sunset to sit in the lounge and drink SUPER cheap martinis and watch the sun go down. Shit is amazing. The view... well. Here:

Later since you're already in Waikiki hit up Lotus for this Brazilian bikini fashion show thing. I love Lotus. Just make sure you validate your parking and it's only $3. NOT $10 like what I friggin paid. Grrr.

AND! Don't forget, never forget, barely legals at O Lounge wtih Vertical Junkies... 80's night at Next Door... Makana at indigo... and stuff.
Happy Hump Day!

Sharing Photos are we?

Well. I'm not one to be super in to slide-show type stuff but I see that a lot of you are. Well. If you live in Hawaii there is ABSOLUTELY no reason why you should be using anything other than Kindfish. Why? Cause they local sistah! We need to support anyone who makes in impact in the technology world over here. Serious.

The site is still developing some supersecretstealthbutawesome tools, but for now you can totally make an account and upload photos with a really easy java uploader then HEY! a slideshow channel! What's cool about it is that anyone can contribute to your channel and you can even add more from your cell phone. The interface is simple but let me know if you need help. Here's one I made for the SMART Shoe Diva event.

So that's my love for now. Kindfish.

Misfit Madness...

...wait. I meant to say Misfit MOVIE Madness. The two-day film fest that started yesterday. Check it out tonight at Arts at Marks Garage.

Also tonight: Hottie college co-eds at Compadres for Taco Tuesday, NewJass Quartet at Thirtyninehotel, Kaleidescope at Next Door, and some gangster cheap drink shit at Pipeline.

Enjoy!

WAIT! one more thing. Are you reading Genegabus's blog on the Star-bulletin website yet? Ahhh... you should.

Sunday, May 13, 2007

Sunday. Fun day.

well! that was a pretty good weekend. i mean. considering.

The pics are all up and they go alllll the way back to last Monday. I know. Lots of stuff. It's why I had to split up the blog. I've never had to do that before! From now on I will make sure I upload on a weekly basis no. matter. what.

Highlights? More watch duels. Waikiki views. Fish. LA people. The Smiths. Foot shaka. Rob as Buddha. Wayne's hair smell. and VIP VIP VIP. Duh!

Time to go to Building a Better Spaceship/30 Seconds to Mars show two! I LOVE la people!!

Saturday, May 12, 2007

S-s-saturday S-s-stuff....

I'm not one to gossip. ..... but you DO realize the "M" in BAMP is Matty boy Hazelgrove. BAMP being the producers of the 30 Seconds to Mars show this weekend. and Matty Boy being the promoter that does the Honolulu party at Longhis.
Connection?
YES. Expect to see the band at Honolulu tonight.
But you didn't hear that from me.

Saturday picks:
Honolulu at Longhi's
STYLISH dress code. 9pm - 2am

SCION Party at O Lounge
(and only because I met the guy Josh from LA that's DJ'ing it last night and he was hot hot hot)
..and SHOWDOWN IN CHINATOWN. the freakishly fast short-film competition that the LOST people always win. That's at Next Door. Get there early or be bummed.

Enjoy your weekend friends.

Friday Picks....

....well I'm totally going to meet 30 Seconds to Mars. In, like, 4 hours. Excited? Somewhat. I have a lot of respect for this band. Not going to get in to it, but J. Leto reminds me of Dave Grohl as far as motivation to make his vision a reality. Nothing but love for them.

After the show I'm making my way to Chinatown. Duh. I would do anything to see that one burlesque danceerrrr:

and hello?!?! Have you seen the new "stuff to do" website here yet? TOTALLY loving them right now: Do Something Tonight.
